The effective management of both private and public sector organizations is widely perceived to be of critical importance to organizational success and, even to national economic well-being. This means that the development of managers to help sustain their performance at the highest levels possible is a particularly crucial element of wider organizational learning strategies.

Managing involves the planning, organization, co-ordination and implementation of strategies, programs, tactics and policies in respect of people, resources, information, operations and finance. Management development interventions may therefore cover any or all of these areas, depending on the level and nature of the management role as well as other factors such as the stage of the individual’s career.

The Management Development process is designed to help managers develop the skills needed to do more with less and be able to aggressively accomplish organizational and personal goals and objectives. As a result of this process, managers understand why and how they can be essential to achieving the organization’s goals.  This process makes management development not only possible, but eminently profitable.

In today’s business environment of accelerating change and increasing uncertainty, only leaders who know who they are and where they are going will succeed. Executive and organizational coaching as provided by Panoptes Solutions is a growth process that builds a leader’s capabilities to achieve professional and organizational goals. A leader is an individual who has the potential of making a substantial contribution to the mission and purpose of the organization.

This coaching is conducted through one-on-one and group interactions, driven by evidence/data from multiple perspectives, and is based on mutual trust and respect. The coach, individuals being coached, and their organizations work in partnership to help achieve the agreed upon goals of the coaching.

Anyone from individual contributor to C level executive will experience positive results throughout the coaching process as it helps each individual improve their performance and personal effectiveness while reducing stress. It offers a rare opportunity to stand back and take a fresh look at the experiences and assumptions of a lifetime.

  • What do you think about the statement: “Success is the continual achievement of your own predetermined goals, stabilized by balance, and purified by belief.” Why are these 3 components so important for success?
  • What do you think about the statement: “As you expand your self-image and your confidence, you strengthen your belief in yourself and your ability to accomplish your goals.” Why is that an important concept if you want to improve yourself in some way?

Questions like these and other similar thought provoking ideas and concepts are intrinsic to coaching.  Participants can expect to:

  • Uncover hidden talents
  • Address behaviors that are inconsistent in achieving improved performance
  • Develop a realistic balance between work and family
  • Rethink and challenge beliefs and values that may allow for enhanced relationships and quality of life.

At all times the coach is there to offer assistance, provide structure and maintain focus and direction.  An environment for discovery and growth is established with the firm commitment to a complete and uncompromising freedom of choice.

Executive Strategic Planning

Strategic planning may be characterized as a systematic effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what a business organization is, what it does, and why it does it. The objective of strategic planning is to develop a map by which to manage an organization’s positioning. It has been said:

“The effective implementation of the strategic plan is the true determining factor as to whether or not a company is effective.”

The Strategic Planning process provides a format for developing specific strategies, converting those strategies into a business planning process, and establishing measurable and attainable organizational goals. It is a process that involves not only determining where an organization wants and needs to go, but also, how it is going to get there.

leadershipPeter Drucker famously stated that “management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.” Great leaders possess dazzling social intelligence, a zest for change, and above all, vision that allows them to set their sights on the “things” that truly merit attention.

How do those in leadership positions in your organization answer these questions?

  • If asked by an employee, what could you do to improve as a leader, what would it be?
  • How do you foster a work/life balance environment within your team?
  • What keeps you busy outside of work?

Working with Panoptes Solutions leaders in your organization will understand who they are and what gives each individual their unique life value.  Whether undertaken individually or as a group, three significant skills and abilities are always addressed:

  • Attitude Development:

In order to create an environment of positive attitudes and possibility thinking, it is important for a leader to understand where and how attitudes are formed and how those attitudes can be developed.  While attitudes can have a powerful effect on behavior, they are not set in stone. The same influences that lead to attitude formation can also create attitude change.

  • Interpersonal Skills:

We use interpersonal skills every day to communicate and interact with others. Much of what a leader is involved in, and therefore accomplishes, involves other people. Upholding positive interpersonal communication skills and business relationships among colleagues, subordinates and superiors is a significant key to maintaining a successful work environment.

  • Goal Setting:

Despite research indicating performance improves 20-25 per cent on goal-setting, a large percentage of leaders do not engage in formal goal setting for themselves and their teams? We all know that all the great adventure stories have a larger-than-life goal. Leadership, among other things, is the process of providing organizational direction and inspiration and accomplishing necessary objectives. Through the goal accomplishment model Panoptes Solutions provides the tools and processes necessary to achieve more goals, more often, to maximize results and outcomes.

Selected Tools

ADVanced Insights

To reach optimal performance you must understand WHAT natural talents you possess, WHY you are motivated to use them, and HOW you prefer to use them. ADVanced Insights delivers this trilogy combining industry leading tools into one thorough and complete Profile.

The Attribute Index looks at the WHAT portion of the WHAT, WHY, and HOW trilogy. It is a personal assessment tool that provides information as to how a person makes decisions:intrinsically, extrinsically, or systematically. By understanding WHAT natural talents you have, it becomes possible to leverage that knowledge to make better decisions, maximize strengths, minimize weaknesses, and achieve greater success in whatever you do.

The Values Index looks at the WHY portion of the trilogy. By understanding WHY you are motivated to do things you are able to better align your environment with what creates the most passion in you. Everyone has their own unique mix of personal drivers and motivators that helps guide them towards success. Understanding what really drives a person is a crucial part of success. It is this understanding that helps to ensure that optimal motivation, passion, and drive are always created – to achieve the highest levels of personal and professional success.

The DISC Index looks at the HOW portion of the trilogy. By understanding HOW you prefer to behave, you are able to better align your environment, select the work that ensures more meaning and success, and produce less stress while doing it. Unlike all existing DISC profiles, the DISC Index has created an instrument that produces zero waste. With the invention of the first ever click-and-drag DISC instrument, the DISC Index generates reports ten-times as varied and individualized as other profiles on the market today. Additionally, the DISC Index separates the four dimensions and helps an individual understand how each dimension can be used to support their success.

Larry Regneth has completed and received official certification for the administration and interpretation of the Resource Associates Corporation Attribute Index, DISC Index, and Values Index. He understands the positive effect these assessment tools provide organizations and that they are a powerful way to maximize their human capital—their people.

The success of a business can be measured in how effectively it achieves the goals it has established for itself. D.I.AL.O.G. is an instrument that will provide the organization with an indication as to how well its goals are in alignment with the perceptions and behaviors of its people.

Ask the question: “Do you feel that sometimes not everyone in the organization has ‘gotten the word’ and that everyone is not operating as a focused team?”

  • D.I.AL.O.G. will show strengths that can be capitalized upon in the marketplace as well as limitations that need to be addressed.
  • D.I.AL.O.G. is an instrument which measures the perceptions of people within the organization.

For example, a finely tuned strategic plan may be in place. The results of the D.I.AL.O.G. survey, however, may indicate that employees perceive that there is none. This is a case of poor communication, not a lack of planning.

Organizational Excellence ensures all organizational systems are aligned and functioning cohesively together. Organizational Excellence provides a competitive advantage—it’s what makes the organization different from all of other organizations in the marketplace that provide similar products or services. Continuous commitment to organizational excellence provides the tools to aggressively enhance product/service which in turn will assist in building loyal customer relationships.

Focusing on excellence provides the business with the resources needed to increase market share. The ability to innovate is positively magnified. Bottom line revenues grow.

By embracing the core tenants of the Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award, D.I.AL.O.G. identifies three critical components of an organization that, when measured and focused on, help develop a well-structured, strong, and customer-focused organization:

  • Strategic planning. An organization needs to have a Strategic Plan, and we take it one step further, they need to operationalize their strategic plan—making sure that everyone knows what part they play in the overall scheme of things and how their role/department impacts their satisfied loyal customer base.
  • Management systems (or the people side of an organization). The people in an organization need to possess the appropriate attitudes and behaviors needed to implement the organization’s plan and positively impact their customer base.
  • The final area is the Process side. The organization must develop the needed processes or modify the existing processes from a lean and value added stand point.

Remember, If you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it.

Rising Stars

A life process preparing students for a future of success and excellence

The Rising Stars Process was designed to help today’s youth develop their personal leadership skills. Leadership is essential in enabling youth to develop character, confidence, and values that promote the goal of healthy behavior. Research shows a majority of American youth engage in health compromising behavior. In her pioneering book, Adolescents at Risk, Joy Dryfoos concludes that half of all ten to seventeen year olds are at high or moderate risk of undermining their chances for a healthy life because of substance abuse, unsafe sex, teen pregnancy, school failure and delinquency, crime, or violence. More importantly, a recent report from the American Medical Association captures the importance of this goal: “For the first time in the history of this country, young people are less healthy and less prepared to take their places in society than their parents. Moreover, this is happening at a time when our society is more complex, more challenging, and more competitive than ever before.”

The Rising Stars Program is an innovative and unique inside-out development program that focuses on three critical elements that promote personal leadership, healthy behaviors, and the skills employers identify as essential. These elements are: developing attitudes, developing interpersonal skills, and developing goal-achievement skills. The process typically begins by developing positive attitudes among the participants about themselves and about the possibilities that exist for them. Attitudes will directly determine in many cases whether a student turns a problem into an opportunity or succumbs to it; whether they behave in healthy ways that benefit from the educational process. Goal achieving and interpersonal skills then enhance their ability to assess the impact of their present behavior on their present and future success.

The necessary ingredients include: relevancy (taken from need analysis), Action Plans (goals based on measurable objectives), reinforcement (the action plan and alumni to share experiences and help overcome obstacles) and most importantly, repetition (consistent, positive reinforcement).

The Rising Stars Program contains all of these ingredients along with the innovative learning methods of: self-directed learning where students take responsibility for their own personal improvement; constructivism, where facilitation recognizes how to shorten the learning curve; and collaborative/team learning activities that support educational research. To conclude, developing personal leadership is a critical component to bringing today’s youth into society and the workforce as healthy, productive contributors. Rising Stars’ proven process instills these behaviors along with an additional return on investment through prevention and reduction of risk behavior.
